HEC Ottawa — Heating, Electrical and Cooling — runs this website. We collect the details you send us so we can quote and do the work, and we measure which ads bring in enquiries. That is all. We do not sell your information to anyone.
When you send us a message
The form on our contact page asks for your name, phone number, email address, the service you need and your message. It arrives with us as an email. We use it to answer you, give you a price and book the work.
The form also carries two hidden pieces of housekeeping: an empty field that automated spam scripts tend to fill in, and how many seconds the page was open before you pressed send. Both only exist to tell real enquiries from spam, and neither identifies you.
When you book a time
Our Book Service buttons open a booking calendar hosted by Google (calendar.app.google). Anything you type there — your name, contact details and the slot you pick — goes to Google as well as to us, and is covered by Google's own privacy policy. If you would rather not use it, call 613-791-5226 and we will book you in over the phone.
When you arrive from one of our ads
We advertise on Google. This site loads Google's advertising tag, which sets cookies in your browser and tells us when an enquiry came from an ad we paid for. It reports totals — how many enquiries an ad produced — not who you are. Your name, phone number, email address and message are never sent to Google by that tag.
You can turn this off. Google's own My Ad Centre controls ad personalisation across Google services, and any browser can block or clear cookies. Blocking it does not break this site or the contact form.
What the web host records
Like every website, ours sits on a hosting server that keeps standard access logs — IP address, browser, which pages were opened and when. Those logs are kept by our hosting provider for security and troubleshooting.
Who else sees your details
Our team, so we can do the job. Beyond that, only the suppliers named above — Google, for the booking calendar and advertising measurement, and our web host. We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not send marketing email to people who simply asked us for a quote.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and job records are kept for as long as we need them to serve you and to meet our record-keeping and tax obligations. If you want your details removed sooner, ask us and we will remove them, unless the law requires us to keep a record of work already done.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email HECOttawa@gmail.com or call 613-791-5226 and tell us what you need. If we ever cannot do what you have asked, we will tell you why.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

If we change how this site handles your information, we will update this page and the date below.
